Main ContentAnatomic Pathology
Anatomic Pathology is comprised of the divisions of surgical pathology, cytopathology, immunopathology and autopsy. Anatomic pathologists diagnose diseases based on the examination of tissues obtained from patients.
These tissues range in complexity and include autopsies, organs removed at surgery, small biopsies, body fluids and individual proteins on the surface of cells.
Through the investigation of disease processes, we facilitate treatment planning for our fellow physicians, inspire translational research projects, and utilize educational materials to train residents, fellows and students.
